The Department of Neuroscience is located within the university's Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences. The department, established in 1986 as an expansion of the program in behavioral neuroscience, was founded on the notion that neuroscience was an up and coming discipline that belonged as an undergraduate major and a field of graduate study.
