Internship Programs

Semester Internship Program

The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Neuroscience will host an annual Semester Undergraduate Research Internship Program. We invite undergraduates to participate in neuroscience laboratory research in the lab of a Pitt faculty member, which will include the student presenting their research at the end of the Spring term at a research poster event (either sponsored by the Department of Neuroscience or another University unit. This is an unpaid educational internship program that is intended to provide an alternative to registering for one of the research courses for credit.

The program will provide a forum for undergraduates who are conducting research projects in neuroscience under the guidance of Pitt faculty members during the Fall and/or Spring terms. The program is open to all undergraduates who are in good academic standing and will be involved in a faculty-mentored research project during the Fall and/or Spring terms. It is the student’s responsibility to identify a research lab and faculty mentor prior to applying to the program. Written approval from the faculty member and safety training or other required training for the student appropriate to the particular laboratory or other environment is required.
